Hand-crafted · Private · Built to last

A lifetime of photos
deserves more than
an algorithm.

Your library is your legacy — but most of it is hidden in plain sight. Tens of thousands of moments stacked by date, with no shape, no story, no way to find what matters — or pass it on. Photo Flashlight is a hand tool for finding the structure that's already there. Illuminate it. Tag it. Keep it.

How it works

Tools, not algorithms.

Most photo apps offer a grid and a search bar and wish you luck. Photo Flashlight gives you hand tools — a sorter, a stack, a tag — built for the patient work of bringing order to a lifetime of pictures. We use machine learning to give you a foothold, not to do the work for you. The structure is yours.

01 · Sweep to Stack

Sweep across, photos lift off.

Drag your finger across your library. The photos you touch leave the grid and land on a stack — out of sight, out of the way. Selection keeps photos as visual noise. Stacking clears the way to the next decision.

02 · Stack to Piles

The same gesture, a finer grain.

Once you have a stack, the same sweep splits it into piles. Tag the whole stack at once, or work pile by pile. The motion you used to gather is the motion you use to sort. Nothing new to learn.

03 · Inbox Zero

Tag a photo, it's done.

Your inbox holds everything you haven't decided on yet. Tag a photo and it's gone — you only see what's still asking for your attention. Apply the discipline you already use for email to the 47,000 photos on your phone.

Tag intersection

See exactly what you mean.

Strict filters are too narrow. Loose filters are too noisy. Photo Flashlight groups photos by tag intersection — every picture that shares all of your selected tags, and nothing else.

Pick Beach and Mom and you see beach photos with Mom — not all your beach photos plus all your photos of Mom. The middle ground that AND and OR can't reach.

Privacy by design

Your archive stays
yours to pass on.

Your photos never leave your phone. Photo Flashlight stores a perceptual fingerprint for each picture — a small hash that recognizes the image without containing it. That's how your tags follow you to a new device, and how the legacy you build stays yours to give.

  • Originals never leave your phone.
  • Tags and organization sync as compact diffs, not images.
  • A photo on a new device? Its fingerprint maps it back automatically.
  • We have no admin view of your library, because the library isn't on our servers.

Pricing
